چکیده

The subcellular distribution of the A and B proteins of lactose synthetase (EC 2.4.1. c) has been determined in bovine and rat mammary tissue. The A protein is mainly associated with the microsomal fraction, whereas the B protein is distributed between the microsomal and soluble fraction. The B protein is more readily dissociated from the microsomes than the A protein. Microsomes present in milk have the same specific activity of the A and B protein as microsomes isolated from mammary tissue.

The isolation and identification of the B protein of lactose synthetase as alpha-lactalbumin.

The B protein, a subunit of lactose synthetase (EC 2.4.1. c), was crystallized from bovine skim milk and bovine mammary tissue. The B protein was identified as cu-lactalbumin, based on the following criteria: substitution in the enxymic rate assays, spectra, immunological titrations, amino acid composition, mobility on starch gel electrophoresis, molecular weight, and cochromatography on diethy...

Changes of stress oxidative enzymes in rat mammary tissue, blood and milk after experimental mastitis induced by E. coli lipopolysaccharide

The present study investigated the effects of E. coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced mastitis model in rat on the activity of antioxidant enzyme systems. To achieve this purpose, E. coli LPS were infused into the mammary gland of 12 rats 72 hr postpartum and compared with 12 rats in control group infused intramammary placebo sterile pyrogene – free, physiological saline. The...

Interaction of primary mammary bovine epithelial cells with biofilm-forming staphylococci associated with subclinical bovine mastitis

Background: Staphylococci are recognized worldwide as one of the most important etiological agents of bovine mastitis due to their virulence factors such as their ability to penetrate inside mammary epithelial cells and their ability to form biofilm. Aims: The objectives of this study were to establish a model of primary mammary epithelial cells origin...
